ABOUT THE MENU

The Strategic Horizons thinkAbout has a deserved reputation as an event where participants not only learn from one another via insightful encounters throughout the two days, but also from the very methods employed in fostering these interactions. This often takes the form of original Pine & Gilmore learning exercises, but we are not shy about also adapting various group-dynamic techniques invented by others. This year's thinkAbout will continue this tradition as Joe & Jim guide participants through a series of “café” interactions, each serving as a conversation-based tour stop in this year’s most unusual Learning Excursion. Drawing heavily from the ideas and practices outlined in The World Café: Shaping Our Futures Through Conversations that Matter by Juanita Brown with David Isaacs and the World Café Community, conversations that matter will form the very core of this year’s thinkAbout.

Our discussions will consist of multiple rounds of dialogue regarding “Questions that Matter” about experience staging, authenticity rendering, and the success of your business enterprise in today’s economy. Each question and the resulting conversations will provide ample opportunity to learn from others as you also offer your own unique perspective to help others learn as well.

And while built on a series of smaller, more intimate conversations, ideas will cross pollinate between groups to create a larger, connected discussion. Everyone will be encouraged to contribute to this work by listening, discovering, learning and harvesting ideas during this connected time of sharing.
